Congratulations to Gary Nitzkin and Dennis for their $350,000 verdict
Gary Nitzkin and Dennis Flessland made the cover of the August 11, 2008 Michigan Lawyers' Weekly. They recently tried the case of Efros v Giles and obtained a verdict of $350,000 by the jury.
The Plaintiffs, Mr. and Mrs. Efros were terrorized annonymously for a the past seven years by their next door neighbor, Mr. Giles. He sent them sexually graphic and threatening letter including a cartoon of Mrs. Efros standing over her husband's grave. After investigating the case for a number of years, the Farmington Hills police finally cracked the case in 2007. Mr. Giles was sent to jail for his vicious and unexplained acts.
Mr. Giles' offered $5,000 to settle this case which was promptly rejected by the Plaintiffs. The case was evaluated in the Plaintiffs' favor for $30,000 which the Defendant rejected. (Interestingly, defendant's counsel stormed out after yelling "My client is not going to pay you $30,000).
Plaintiffs are now seeking attorneys fees in addition to the verdict.
