Our Collection Department

A Collection Department is vital to any reputable Debt Collection Law firm. Our Collection Department is actively involved with our client's claims from the moment the claim comes into our office. Before we file a lawsuit on your claim, the Collection Department will:

  • Determine whether your matter is collectible. If the claim appears to be collectible, then the Collection Department will then:

  • Contact the debtor to find out why it has not paid its account to you. If the Debtor indicates that a counterclaim may exist, we will report that to you immediately so you can determine whether you still want to pursue the debt. If the debtor does not have a valid defense to your claim, the Collection Department will go on to:

  • Negotiate a payment agreement with the debtor that is acceptable to you. If you accept a payment plan that our Collection Department negotiates, it will monitor that plan to ensure that the debtor "stays on track" with the promised payments.

  • If the debtor fails to make a payment, the Collection Department will send a reminder notice to the debtor, note the account in the firm wide database and notify the legal department of the situation.

  • If the debtor breaks the payment plan, the matter is immediately turned over to the legal department for collection.
