We are collection attorneys. Since 1990, we have been collecting all kinds of debt from debtors located in Michigan. We collect commercial debts such as judgments, invoices, bad checks, open accounts, mortgages and secured debts. We also collect consumer debts such as credit card balances and medical debt.
Nitzkin and Associates handles both simple and complex debt collection matters. While a simple debt collection matter may be reduced to cash by a Garnishment or Writ of Seizure, we excel at handling more complex matters. We have two full time certified public accountants that work with our lawyers. Together, our collection team is able to identify and locate assets owned and hidden by debtors from their financial statements and tax returns. By using sophisticated debt collection techniques such as lawsuits against third parties for fraudulent transfers and filing motions for a receivership over these Debtors, we are able to recover a great deal of money for our clients.
Our Market Position in the legal debt collection market is both strong and unique.
We also have a Debtor’s Rights practice area. Sometimes good collectors just do bad things to nice people who may owe money. When that happens, we represent debtors because bad collectors hurt our industry. We also help consumers whose consumer credit reports contain bad information.
